Episode 14 – Talking Soundtracks: Flash Gordon

Brad and Leah talk about the Soundtrack to The Crow

The 4th and Final episode (for now) of Talking Soundtracks.

Jarf Returns to discuss Flash Gordon and Queen’s iconic soundtrack for the film.

The Digressions:
-What makes a good soundtrack?
-What performer/comic book character would make a great soundtrack combination?
-Can Brad go a full episode without talking about his fandom of Matthew Sweet and/or Ben Folds?
-How bad, sometimes awkwardly bad, the Rocky soundtracks became.
-Why Vanilla Ice sings the Go Turtle Go song so much.
-The Craziness of White Actors playing Asian Characters in the 80s.

New Episodes Coming!

We’re talking about Soundtracks from our Favorite Super Hero Movies.

First Up: The Crow with new Panelist Leah.  We recorded last night.  It sounds great and will be up this weekend.

Next: Guardian of the Galaxy with Shawn.

Then: Kick-Ass with Tim.

Finally: Flash Gordon with Jarf.

Lotta variety.  First thought was to splice together one episode, but after talking with Leah, I fear that would be a four hour mega-podcast.  Instead, we’re going to have a Soundtrack Mini-Series.
